Gil A. Epstein, M.D.

Dr. Epstein is a fellowship trained surgeon in ocular plastic surgery. He is also an accomplished surgeon with special interest in cosmetic laser facial plastic surgery. He joined the Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute in 1980. Dr. Epstein comes to the group with advanced training in ophthalmic plastic surgery. He completed his fellowship in ophthalmic plastic reconstructive surgery at The Michael Reese Hospital, University of Illinois, 1980. Dr. Epstein served his medical internship at the Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center from 1975-76 and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Michael Reese Hospital in 1979.

He graduated with honors and was Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University in 1971, and in 1975 he earned his medical degree from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Epstein was the first physician in Broward County to be fellowship trained in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Epstein is board certified and is a member of the following medical societies: Fellow, American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; Fellow, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Florida Medical Association, Broward County Medical Association, Broward County Ophthalmological Society. He was the recipient of the Honor Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 1993.
