Meet the Doctors
Dr.Rous is a co-founder of the Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute. He spent his entire career always striving to provide the best of care for his patients. He likes to feel that he has retained the significance of what it means to be physician and to put his patient’s needs at the forefront. He has been at the cutting edge of so many of the advances in Ophthalmology that have taken place over the past 30 years and brings that gratifying experience to his patients in a warm and kindly way.

Joining Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute in 1980, Dr. Epstein is a fellowship-trained surgeon in ocular plastic surgery. He is also an accomplished surgeon with special interest in cosmetic laser facial plastic surgery. With his advanced training, he was the first physician in Broward County to be fellowship trained in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Stuart Burgess, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Burgess specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases including the management of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, uveitis, ocular tumors, and ocular trauma.
Dr. Burgess is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American College of Surgeons. Dr. Keith Skolnick practices Comprehensive Ophthalmology and specializes in diseases of the anterior segment of the eye – cataract, glaucoma, dry eye, allergies, infections, inflammatory conditions, corneal diseases, and vision correction surgery.
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Skolnick regularly performs no-stitch/no-patch cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, refractive surgery (LASIK, LASEK, PRK, AK, and CK), cornea transplants, and laser eye surgery. Dr. Lara is the newest member of the Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute physician team. Dr. Lara specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients with retinal disorders, including special interests in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, uveitis, and severe ocular trauma. He routinely uses state-of-the-art surgical and laser techniques for various conditions such as retinal detachments, macular holes, and eye injuries.

Dr. Feldman is a founding director of the Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute. He is a fellowship-trained corneal specialist and treats diseases affecting the external eye. He is also an accomplished eye surgeon who performs the various procedures and techniques that have been developed over the last 20 years. In 1981 Dr. Feldman performed a radial keratotomy procedure, which was the first refractive surgery of any kind performed in Broward County.

Dr. Bizer is board-certified and practices Comprehensive Ophthalmology. He provides a wide scope of services, including cataract surgery with intraocular lenses, routine eye examinations and diabetes evaluations, glaucoma control, emergency eye care, macular disease, and headache evaluations.
Dr. Bizer is a leader in refractive surgery and has performed LASIK, LASEK, PRK, PTK, RK, and AK. Furthermore, he is one of only 50 eye surgeons in the United States who is credentialed to teach and certify other ophthalmologists in the operation of the VISX Excimer Laser for refractive and photo-therapeutic eye surgery. Dr. Galluzzo is a board certified optometric physician specializing in eye care for patients of all ages. She is a contact lens specialist with advanced training in lens fittings of all types. She joined Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute in 1994 and is an integral part of our Laser Vision Correction Team.
Dr. Galluzzo earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York in 1993. She earned her undergraduate degree from Adelphi University in 1990, where she graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Learn more about Dr. Galluzzo.
