Astigmatism
If you have significant astigmatism the doctors at the Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute can help you. There are many different ways to correct astigmatism. During cataract surgery relaxing incisions (Astigmatic Keratometry) can be made in the cornea to treat astigmatism. Additionally, a toric lens implant (see below) can be placed at the time of cataract surgery to correct astigmatism. If you do not need cataract surgery, astigmatism can be corrected by laser vision correction (LASIK or Advanced Surface Ablation) or Astigmatic Keratometry.
