Vision Correction
Vision is commonly corrected with eyeglasses and contact lenses. But for those who prefer an alternative to corrective eyewear, a number of advanced surgical procedures can be attractive and offer a more permanent option.
Our team of highly trained surgeons has performed thousands of refractive surgical procedures. Some have distinguished themselves as pioneers of new advances and have trained others. Should you be an appropriate eye surgery candidate, you can be confident that our surgeons will be providing the very best care and treatment possible.
In general, vision correction — be it through a surgical procedure or wearing glasses or contacts — aims at correcting what are called "refractive errors;" that is, eye curvature conditions that cause things to appear blurry or out of focus. Using a variety of advanced eye surgery procedures, the cornea and the natural crystalline lens can be removed and replaced with an appropriate lens implant.
Common refractive errors include nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and other blurring conditions (astigmatism and presbyopia). Learn more about these common vision problems.
In this section you will learn about a few of the advanced surgical procedures our doctors perform.
